Asset Transfer without change Asset number among business area

Hi Gurus,

In SAP 4.6.C we can't do asset transfer (among business area) without change the new asset number. We must create a new asset (with new business area) and transfer the value of old asset to new asset. There are our customer (Client) ask to me, it is possible to moving asset from business area A to business area B in SAP ACC.6 without create a new asset number?

Generally, without creating New Asset, transferring of old Asset is not possible.

Since we want to transfer the asset from one business area to other business area, we have to remove the asset from business area where transfer happen and we have to show that asset in the history of receiver business area. So we cant transfer the asset with same number within the business area.

There is one tab called Time-dependent data in master data there you can set the time intervals for Asset.It's mainly designed for your requirement like.

When asset moved from one place to another place or another location you can set the time interval for that..

For example:

A asset belongs to ABC businessarea from 01/01/2008 to 30/06/2008
When asset moved to DEF business area you have to set interval for 01/07/2008 to 31/12/9999

Then that asset will be read undet DEF business area.

I've already tried it, but only can once. If we want to change business area afterthat in order we made mistake so we want to correct it, the field of business area become grey.

Is there any solution?

SPRO-->Asset Accounting-->Master Data-->Specify Time-Independent Management of Organiz. Units select check box and Try
