In this SAP MM (Material Management) tutorial, we will learn how to maintain Assortment Types in the SAP system with the proper screenshots.
What Assortment Type in SAP?
An Assortment Type is an SAP Retail object to which materials are assigned (a process known as “listing”). In other words, we can say Assortment type is nothing but a group of articles assigned to a group of sites.
How to Maintain Assortment Type in SAP?
Please follow the steps below to define the assortment type in the SAP system:
Enter t-code SPRO in the SAP command field and press Enter button to execute it.
Now on Customizing: Execute Project click the SAP Reference IMG button to proceed to the next screen.
Next, go to the following SAP menu path:
SPRO > SAP Reference IMG > Planning and Consolidation > Logistic General > Reel Calculation > Define Result Category
On the Change View "Maintenance View: Assortment Types": Overview screen, you will see the list of the previously maintained Assortment Types on your SAP system.
Next click on the New Entries button to maintain the new assortment type in your SAP system.
Now, provide the following details as shown below:
- Assortment Type: Input unique code that identifies the new assortment type and its description
- Assortment Dimension: Select the new assortment dimension.
Once all the details are entered click the Save button to save the new maintenance configuration.
Next, select your Customization Request id and press Enter to proceed.
A message Data was saved will be displayed on the bottom of your screen.
You have successfully maintained a new assortment type in your SAP system.
