What is the Best Practice to Disconnect Child System from CUA?

Hello Experts,

Please list out compelling reasons why we it is best practice to disconnect child system from CUA before we REFRESH ChilD system.

Please mention Possible Impact if this is not done.

With my exp there are 2 reasons.
1. Say if 1 PRD system is connected to 5 other PRD systems, then when you do system copy to QAS system, then the QAS system will become parent and the old 5 PRD system will became child system. It's a risk.
2. After refreshing child system without removing the connections then it's default to delete the connections.
