What is Benefit Area?
The Benefit Area in SAP is a subdivision of the plan that is set up within the benefits component. Typically, employees from an organization are enrolled in a benefit area that groups them according to their common characteristics like the same country, etc.
How to Define Benefit Area?
Please follow the steps below to define the benefits area:
Enter the t-code SPRO in the SAP command field and press Enter to run the t-code.
Next click on the SAP Reference IMG button as shown in the image below:
Now go to the following SAP IMG navigation path mentioned below:
SPRO > Reference IMG > Personnel Management > Benefits > Basic Settings > Define Benefit Area
On the Change View "Benefit Area": Overview screen, you will see the list of previously defined benefit area on your SAP screen.
Now click on New Entries to create a new benefit area.
Now on the New Entries: Overview of Added Entries screen, enter the following details of the new benefit area as shown in the image below.
Once all the details are entered click on the Save button to save the new benefit area data.
Select your Customizing Request id and press Enter to move to the next screen.
A message data was saved will be displayed on the bottom of your screen which implies all the input data for the new benefit area have been saved on your SAP system.
You have successfully defined a Benefit Area on your SAP system.
