What is Capacity Planner in SAP?
A capacity planner in SAP PS is the scale of organizing, focusing on the planning and decision-making process of analyzing, balancing, and allocating resources in consideration of the requirements, priorities, customer demands, workforce, and timeframe of a project or production.
How to Define Capacity Planner in SAP?
Please follow the steps below to define the capacity planner in the SAP system:
Enter t-code SPRO in the SAP command field and Execute it.
Now on Customizing: Execute Project click the SAP Reference IMG button.
Next, go to the following SAP menu path:
SPRO > SAP Reference IMG > Project System > Resources > Define Capacity Planners
On the Change View "Capacity Planners": Overview screen, you will see the previously defined Capacity Planner list on your SAP system.
Next, click the New Entries button to define a new Capacity Planner in your SAP system.
Now, provide the following details for the new Capacity Planner as shown in the image below:
- Plnr: Enter an alpha-numeric code that represents the new capacity planning
- Description: Enter a short description of the new capacity planner
Once all the details are entered click the Save button to save the new Capacity Planner.
Next, select your Customization Request id and press Enter to proceed.
A message Data was saved will be displayed on the bottom of your screen.
You have successfully defined a new Capacity Planner ST in your SAP PS system.
