What is Certificate Type in SAP Quality Management?
The certificate type in SAP QM is a document that is defined in SAP QM because of the following reasons:
- For certificate creation, a user certificate type can be used to control the statuses in the certificate profile.
- In procurement, a user can use the certificate type for controlling the number of functions that have been defined in Customizing.
How to Define A New Certificate Type?
Please follow the steps below to define a new certificate type:
Enter t-code SPRO in the SAP command field and execute it.
Now on the next screen click the SAP Reference IMG button.
Next, go to the following SAP menu path:
Quality Management > Quality Certificates > Certificate Profile > Define Certificate Types
Next on the "Certificate types as viewed from certificate creation function": Overview screen, you will see the list of the previously defined certificate types in your SAP system.
Next click on the New Entries button to define a new Certificate Types.
Now, fill the following field as shown in the image below:
- CTyp: A unique code to specify a new certificate type
- Short Text: A description of the new certificate type
Now click the Save button at the bottom to save the new configuration
Next, select your Customization Request id and press Enter to proceed.
A message Data was saved will be displayed on the bottom of your screen. This means the configuration of the new certificate type is saved in your SAP system successfully.
You have successfully defined a new Certificate Type Z34 in your SAP system.
