This tutorial explains step by step procedure to define translation ratios for currency translation in SAP with proper screenshots.
What are Currency Translation Ratios?
The Currency Translation Ratio is a ratio of the relationship between units of two currencies. It is used for currency translation. We define translation ratios for each exchange rate type and pair of currencies.
For Example:
- 1 USD = 70 INR
So we can define the Currency Translation Ratio between USD and INR as follow:
- USD: INR=1:70
How to Define Currency Translation Ratios?
Please follow the steps below to define Translation Ratios for Currency Translation in SAP:
Step 1) Execute t-code OBBS in the SAP command field.
OR SAP IMG PATH
Execute T-code SPRO
Click the SAP Reference IMG button
Next, navigate to the following SAP IMG path:
SAP Netweaver –> General Settings –> Currencies –> Define translation ratios for currency translation.
Step 2) Now a warning message will appear on your screen, click on the Yes button.
Next on the Change view currencies translation ratios overview screen you will see the list of previously defined Translation Ratios
Step 3) Now click the New Entries button to define a new translation ratio.
Step 4) Next on the next screen, provide the following information.
- ExRt: Select the exchange rate type
- From: Enter the currency you want to translate
- To: Enter the currency you want to translate to
- Valid from: Enter date from when your translation ratio will be valid from
- Ratio (From), Ratio (To): Enter the ratio
Step 5) Once you have entered all the information, click the Save button
Step 6) Next select your Customization Request id and press Enter key to proceed further
A message Data was saved will be displayed on the bottom of your screen
We have successfully defined the ratios for currency translation.
