What is Define Distribution Key in SAP?

A distribution key in SAP Production Planning is a tool that is used in planning that enables SAP users to distribute an annual plan value over the plan periods according to their business requirements.

How to Define Distribution Key in SAP?

Please follow the steps below to create media in SAP HR:

Enter the t-code SPRO in the SAP command field and execute it

Next click on the SAP Reference IMG button to move to the next screen.

Now follow the IMG path mentioned below:

On the Change View "Names of Distribution Types": Overview screen, you will see the list of previously defined distribution keys on your SAP screen.

Now click on New Entries to create a new distribution key.

Next on the next new entries screen, specify the following fields.

• Distribution: Enter a unique code for the new distribution key.
• Description: Enter a short description for the distribution key

Next, select the strategy and function as shown in the image below

Once all the fields are specified click on the Save button to save the configured data

Select your Customizing Request code and press Enter to move to the next screen.

A message data was saved will be displayed on the bottom of your screen.

You have successfully defined a distribution key ST on your SAP system.
