What is a Notification Type in SAP?
Notification Type in SAP enables users for the status tracking facility from the PM notification in addition to the functions of the shift note.
How to Define Notification Type?
Please follow the step below to define the new notification type:
Enter t-code SPRO in the SAP command field and press Enter to execute.
Now on the next screen click the SAP Reference IMG button.
Next, go to the following SAP menu path:
SPRO -> IMG –> Cross-Application Components -> Notification -> Notification Creation -> Notification Type -> Define Notification Types
On the next screen, you will see the list of the previously defined Notification Types on your SAP system.
Next click on the New Entries button to define a new Not in your SAP system.
Now, fill in the following details for the new Notification Type as shown in the image below:
- Notification Type: Input a unique key that identifies the new notification type
- Notification Origin:
Enter the other optional details as per as your requirements.
Once all the details are entered click the Save button at the bottom to save the new notification type's configuration.
Next, select your Customization Request id and press Enter to proceed.
A message Data was saved will be displayed on the bottom of your screen.
You have successfully defined a new Notification TypeSTin your SAP Basis system.
