This SAP PPM tutorial will explain to users the step-by-step process to define Phase Types in their SAP system with proper SAP GUI screenshots.
What is Phase Type in SAP?
Phase type is a value that designates a category of the phase such as transportation or production.
How to Define Phase Type in SAP?
Please follow the steps below to define a phase-type in the SAP PPM system:
Enter t-code SPRO in the SAP Command Field and execute it
On the next screen, click the SAP Reference IMG button to proceed.
Now on Display IMG follow the following SAP IMG path:
SAP Portfolio and Project Management > Project Management > Structure > Define Phase Types
Next on Change View "Phase Type": Overview screen you will see the list of previously defined phase types in your SAP system.
Click on the New Entries button to define new phase types in your SAP system.
Now input the following details for the new Phase Type as shown in the screenshot below:
- Phase Type: Enter unique code for the new phase type
- Type ShortText: Enter a short description for the new phase type
Now under Approval Management select all the options according to your requirements.
Once all details are entered click the Save button to save the newly defined Phase Type in your SAP system.
Now select your Customization Request id and press Enter to proceed further.
Next, the status bar displays a message Data was saved on the bottom of your screen.
You have successfully defined a new Phase Type in your SAP system.
