What is PM Equipment Category in SAP?
PM Equipment category in SAP is used to segregate the various equipment according to broad criteria like Electrical equipment, PRT (production resources tool), Vehicles, etc where material serial no. functionality is used.
How to Define PM Equipment Category in SAP?
Please follow the steps below to create a new PM equipment category in the SAP System:
Step 1: Execute t-code SPRO in the SAP command field as shown in the image below.
Step 2: On the next screen click the SAP Reference IMG button
Step 3:Next follow the following SAP IMG path
SPRO > SAP Reference IMG > Yard Logistics > Integration > Integration to SAP Plant Maintenance > Define PM Equipment Category
Now on the Change View "Define PM Equipment Category": Overview, you will see the list of all previously created PM Equipment Categories on your SAP system.
Step 4: Next click the New Entries button to create a new PM Equipment Category.
Step 5: Now provide the following details for the new PM Equipment Category as shown below in the image:
- Yard No.: Select the yard number
- PM Equipment: Select PM equipment
Step 6:Once you entered all the required details, click on the SAVE icon to save all the data.
Step 7:Next select your Customization Request id and press enter to proceed
A message Data was saved will appear on the bottom of your screen which means that your new PM Equipment Category is saved in your SAP system.
A new PM Equipment Category ST is successfully created in your SAP system.
