What is Sales Channel in SAP?
A sales channel in the SAP system represents a base store in the standard delivery of SAP Commerce. When an online store customer adds articles to his or her cart and goes to checkout, the system checks the sales channel of the base store in the backend application of SAP Commerce.
How to Define Sales Channel in SAP?
Please follow the steps below to define the sales channel in your SAP system:
Enter t-code SPRO in the SAP command field and execute it.
Now on the next screen click the SAP Reference IMG button.
Next, go to the following SAP menu path:
SPRO > SAP Reference IMG > Service > Master Data > Contract Account > Creation of Contract Account > Define Sales Channels
On the next screen, you will see the list of the previously defined Sales Channels on your SAP system.
Next click on the New Entries button to define a new sales channel in SAP.
Now, fill in the following details of the new sales area as shown in the image below:
- Channel: Enter unique the alphanumeric key for to identify the new sales channel.
- Channel Text: Enter a short description for the new sales channel
Once all the details are entered click the Save button at the bottom to save the new sales channel.
Next, select your Customization Request id and press Enter to proceed.
A message Data was saved will be displayed on the bottom of your screen.
You have successfully defined a new Sales Channel in your SAP SD system.
