What is Define Distribution Key in SAP?
The staffing process in SAP is a function that is used to define the responsibility for staffing and/or candidate management and the SAP user can change the role status related to the staffing process.
How to Define Staffing Processes in SAP?
Please follow the steps below for staffing processes in the SAP system:
Enter the t-code SPRO in the SAP command field and press Enter to execute it
Next click on the SAP Reference IMG button to go to the next screen.

Now follow the IMG path mentioned below:
SPRO > SAP Reference Mangement > Project Management > Resource Management > Basic Settings for Roles > Define Staffing Processes
On the Change View "Staffing Process": Overview screen, you will see the previously defined staffing process list on your SAP screen.
Now click on New Entries to define a new staffing process.
Next on the next new entries screen, specify the following fields.
- Distribution: Enter a unique code for the new distribution key.
- Description: Enter a short description for the distribution key

Once all the fields are specified click on the Save button to save the configured data
Select your Customizing Request code and press Enter to move to the next screen.
A message data was saved will be displayed on the bottom of your screen.
You have successfully defined a distribution key ST on your SAP system.
