What is Transportation Mode in SAP?
A transportation mode is the method of transport by which cargo is transported like rail, road, air, or sea. The modes of transport are represented by transportation lanes in order-based planning by SAP users.
How to Define Transportation Mode in SAP?
Please follow the steps below to define transportation mode in your SAP system:
Enter t-code SPRO in the SAP command field and Execute it by pressing Enter button.
Now on Customizing: Execute Project screen click the SAP Reference IMG button to proceed.
Next, navigate to the following SAP IMG path:
SPRO > SAP Reference IMG > Advanced Planning > Master Data > Transportation Lane > Maintain Transportation Model
On the Change View "Transportation Mode": Overview screen, you will see the list of the previously defined Transportation Mode on your SAP system.
Next, click the New Entries button to define a new Transportation Mode in your SAP system.
Now, provide the following details about the new Transportation Mode as shown in the image below
Once all the details are entered click the Save button to save the new configuration of the transportation mode
Next, select your Customization Request id and press Enter to proceed.
A message Data was saved will be displayed on the bottom of your screen.
You have successfully created a new Shipment type in your SAP Transport system.
