Definition of ATP Server

i want to make an correction... if the question is related to SAP, ATp server is something different.... :))
The ATP server has a cross-transaction, global memory (shared buffer), where ATP-relevant information, for example, requirement date, requirement quantity and confirmed quantity of the database tables RESB
(Reservations/dependent requirements) and VBBE (Sales Requirements:
Individual Records) is aggregated according to the date for one day at a time.
This method of access considerably improves the performance.A corresponding delta processing ensures data consistency between the shared buffer and the database. The ATP server is not a separate installation.As an application server, it is part of the used R/3 installation.

The atp server is an experimental Linux server that provides web hosting and shell accounts, similar to the biosci server. An Available-To-Promise-Server provides all the data available throughout a company. When demand is increasing the system can define supply expectations and support their fulfilment.

Thanks, I was looking at the OSS 163819, as for OSS note 25444, it only apply to Ver 4.0 & up . Since we are still on Ver 3.1H, I can just ignore it. However, for interest, I`ll review note 99999. Thanks again for your advise. I was looking  at OSS note 25444 and plan to run this program SDRQCR21. It reference ATP server  & its buffer. I am glad that you sent this note.

ITs called Available To Promise ( ATP ) and the components that go along with it. its more a service than a server.
