What is Handling Code in SAP?
A Handling code in the SAP system is a specific unique id that represents the basic handling of a basic SAP business function.
How to Define Handling Code in SAP?
Please follow the steps below to define a new handling code in your SAP system:
Execute t-code SPRO in the SAP Command Field and press Enter to execute it.
On the next screen click the SAP Reference IMG button to proceed to the next screen.
Now navigate to the following SAP IMG path:
Transport Management > Basic Function > Define Handling Codes
Next on the Change View "Handling Codes": Overview screen you will see a list of previously defined Handling Codes on your SAP system.
Next, click the New Entries button to define a new Handling codes.
Next on the new entries screen enter the following details:
- Handling Code: Enter unique code for new handling codes
- Category: Select category for handling codes ie. External or Internal
- Description: Enter a short description for the handling codes
Once all the details have been entered click the Save button to save the new configuration of handling codes.
Next, select your Customization Request id and press Enter to proceed.
A message Data was saved will be displayed on the bottom of your screen.
You have successfully defined a new Handling Codes STE in your SAP system.
