How to assign cost element hierarchy(top node) to controlling area

Hi All,

Please help me to assign cost element hierarchy (top node) to controlling area.

Like we assign profit center hierarchy(top node) to controlling area through tcode 0ke5. Same like this i am trying to assign cost element hierarchy to controlling area.

    Hello,

    Cost element hierarchy??? I think you are referring to cost center hierarchy.
    You can assigned in OKKP under basic data folder >> other settings tab.

    i think you have mistaken

    There is no cost element hierarchy. Cost elements are related to the chart of account and GLs

    So when Chart of account is assigned to the CO Code and controlling areas is also to the same co code

    cost elements can be created.

    As you want to assign cost element to controlling area.This is not possible.

    First,
    We are creating the cost elements at controlling area level.

    Second,
    We are assigning the cost elements to "cost element group".
    and the cost element group is created under controlling area.

    Third,
    Assigning cost elements directly to controlling area is not possible. but, we can create under controlling.

    Like, you create GL's under company code.
