When building a finished product, the component is already used (stock to zero) and the goods issue for the component is booked before the goods receipt the component is carried out, In the meantime, the stock falls below zero.
AFS MRP will look upon negative stock as a normal requirement element, and create stock proposals to bring up the stock. A requirement due to negative stock has the requirement type "NB". The requirement number displayed is the batch number.
AFS MRP does not support negative quantities in AFS standard (backflushing process). With this note negative stock becomes available within the AFS.
This is a special development ! ********************************************************************** * THIS IS A MODIFICATION NOTE. * ********************************************************************** * Initially, this change is not included in Release 1.0D. * * At a later date (in a later release), this change * * is integrated in accordance with the AFS standard if required. * ********************************************************************** * During the import of FixPaks and further releases, ALWAYS check * * afterwards whether the modification should be implemented! * ********************************************************************** Please refer to note 170183.
A negative stock is seen as a blocked requirement (MRP status "B") in the stock/requirements list, before an MRP run.
MRP plans and assigns existing stock elements or proposes new stock elements. An exception message (EM 96 - Stock fallen below safety stock level) is displayed for a negative stock requirement.
Both free available and special stocks can be posted into negative stock.
