What are Role Functions in SAP?
Role functions in SAP PM are certain standard roles that must be assigned to your users in order to enable them to use Project Management.
How to Define Role Function in SAP Project Management?
Please follow the steps below to define role function in your SAP system:
Enter t-code SPRO in the SAP command field and Execute it.
Now on Customizing: Execute Project screen click the SAP Reference IMG button to proceed.
Next, navigate to the following SAP IMG path:
SAP Portfolio and Project Mangement > Project Mangement > Resource Management > Basic Settings for Roles > Define Roles Functions
On the Change View "Enter Role Functions": Overview screen, you will see the list of the previously defined Role Functions on your SAP system.
Next click on the New Entries button to define a new Role Function in your SAP system.
Now, provide the following details about the new role function in project management
- Id of Role Function
- Name of Role Function
Once all the details are entered click the Save button to save the new configuration
Next, select your Customization Request id and press Enter to proceed.
A message Data was saved will be displayed on the bottom of your screen.
You have successfully created a new Role Function in your SAP Project Management system.
