What are Shipment Types in SAP?
The shipment type contains all the important control features for a shipment, such as a number range, whether the shipment is inbound or outbound, how leg determination is performed, and which leg indicator has been set for a shipment of this type.
How to Define Shipment Types in SAP Transportation?
Please follow the steps below to define Shipment Types in your SAP system:
Enter t-code SPRO in the SAP command field and Execute it.
Now on Customizing: Execute Project screen click the SAP Reference IMG button to proceed.
Next, navigate to the following SAP IMG path:
Transportation > Shipments > Define Shipment Types
On the Change View "Shipment Types": Overview screen, you will see the list of the previously defined Shipment Types on your SAP system.
Next click on the New Entries button to define a new Shipment Type in your SAP system.
Now, provide the following details about the new Shipment types
Once all the details are entered click the Save button to save the new configuration
Next, select your Customization Request id and press Enter to proceed.
A message Data was saved will be displayed on the bottom of your screen.
You have successfully created a new Shipment type in your SAP Transport system.
