Creating and assigning Attributes for Landscape Components.
You create attributes for hosts, database, systems and main instances, to be able to assign additional properties to them, e.g. hardware attribute information or the person responsible for a system. As a prerequisites, you have to be in the Solution Manager System Landscape transaction (SMSY). Double click on “SMSY- System Landscape”.

Click on “Utilities” in the menu.

Click on “Attribute Definition” in the menu.

Switch to Edit mode by clicking on the button “Edit Mode”.

Click on “New Entries”.

Assign an attribute key in the customer namespace, i.e. beginning with Y or Z. For this demo, please enter “ZRESPONSIBLESYS” and press tab.

Now you have to enter an attribute name. for this demo, please enter “Responsible for System” and press Tab.

As a description, please enter “Responsible Person for System” and press Tab.

Check value “System Attrib”.

Now you have your entries. Please click on “Save”.

Go Back.
Change View “Attribute Definition”: Overview
The system displays the newly- defined attributes of the landscape components, in the “Other Attributes” tab. You can see the appropriate tab here. Press Enter to continue.

You are now going to assign the attributes you defined to a landscape component, our example system QW8. Click on tab Attributes.

Click on F4 Help Button in field “Attribute Value”.

Click on “Possible entries”.

Select User “itutor” by clicking on the user name.

You are now going to assign a possible enters help to your new attribute. Every time you want to assign attribute values to a landscape component this possible entries help will be displayed. Select this attribute.

In this tutorial we will assign an existing possible entries help, in this case the user data possible entries help of a system. Enter “USER_COMP” then press Tab.

Double click on the line “AGR_NAME”.

To save your changes, click on “Save”.

To assign attribute values to the search click on F4 Help.

You have now assigned attributes to a landscape component. Press Enter to exit.
System Landscape
You can view the attributes you create a graphic. The overview graphic presents the landscape components sorted by the attributes assigned to them. Click on “Overview”.

Display Attribute Responsible for System, Component Type System Overview
This is the overview screen of the attribute “Responsible for system”. You can see the system you are assigned to. Press Enter to exit.
