What is Bin Access Type in SAP?
The bin access types in SAP have control over the stock in a bin that can be accessed by the resource values as per resource type. Once the user defines resource types in the Hana Embedded EWM warehouse, he must assign the bin access type to a resource type.
How to Define Bin Access Type in SAP?
A user can define the bin access type in his SAP system following the below steps:
Enter t-code SPRO in the SAP command field and execute it.
Now on the next screen click the SAP Reference IMG button.
Next, go to the following SAP menu path:
SCM Extended Warehouse Management – Extended Warehouse Management – Cross-Process Settings – Resource Management – Define Bin Access Types
On the next screen, you will see the list of the previously defined Bin Access Type on your SAP system.
Next click on the New Entries button to define a new bin access type in SAP.
Now, fill in the following details of the new bin access type as shown in the image below:
- Warehouse Number: Enter a unique Embedded EWM warehouse for maintaining the Bin Access Type
- Acc. Type: Enter the new Access Type that defines the Bin Access Type in the SAP S/4Hana system
- Description: Enter a short description for the newly defined Bin Access Type.
Once all the details are entered click the Save button at the bottom to save the new bin access type.
Next, select your Customization Request id and press Enter to proceed.
A message Data was saved will be displayed on the bottom of your screen.
You have successfully defined a new Bin Access Type in your SAP Hana system.
