What is Request Type in SAP?
The request type represents the technical mapping of request forms and determines the properties of a request. You define the request type for a performing organizational unit (OU) (e.g. service facility) and for the desired request options. In the request type you define the appearance of the request and what content it should contain.
How to Define Request Type in SAP?
Please follow the steps below to define a new request type in your SAP system:
Execute t-code SPRO in the SAP Command Field and press Enter to execute it.
On the next screen click the SAP Reference IMG button to proceed to the next screen.
Now navigate to the following SAP IMG path:
Controling > General Controlling > Change Request > Create Request Types
Next on the Change View "Create Request Types": Overview screen you will see a list of previously created Request Types in your SAP system.
Next, click the New Entries button to create a configuration for new request types in your SAP syetsm.
Next on the new entries screen enter the following details:
- Request Type: Enter unique code for new request types
- Description: Enter a short description for the request type
- Scenario: Choose the scenario for the new request types
- Action Handler: Choose the action handler
Once all the details have been entered click the Save button to save the configuration of new request types.
Next, select your Customization Request id and press Enter to proceed.
A message Data was saved will be displayed on the bottom of your screen.
You have successfully defined a new Request Types STECH in your SAP system.
